Stock Take Tutorial for Coffee Shop Staff Using Lightspeed POS O-Series
Accessing Stock Take Functionality
- Start in Back Office: Navigate to the Back Office of your Lightspeed POS O-Series system.
- Inventory Management: Go to the 'Inventory' section.

Stock Counts: Within Inventory, locate and click on 'Stock counts'.
- Note: If you do not see the 'Stock counts' option, you may not have the necessary access. Please check with your manager to ensure you have permissions to perform stock takes.
Initiating a New Stock Count
- New Stock Count: Click on 'New stock count'.
- Select Products to Count: Choose 'Count all products'. This option allows you to count every item in your inventory.
Counting Process
- Order of Counting: Begin counting products. You can start from the top of the list and move to the bottom, or count in any order that suits your workflow.

Counting Cartons and Individual Items:
- Unopened Cartons: Count unopened cartons of products. The system automatically knows the number of items in each carton.
- Individual Items: Also count unpackaged individual items.

Recording Counts:
- After counting an item, use the 'Save, next item' function. This action saves your count and moves you to the next item in the inventory.
- To skip an item or if it’s not stocked in your shop, select 'Do not count this item'.
Reviewing and Saving the Stock Count
- Review Stock Count: After completing the counting process, select 'Review stock count'. This step is crucial to ensure all items have been accounted for.
- Save Your Work: Once you're satisfied with the stock count, make sure to save it by clicking "Submit stock count".
